Working with Jennifer on her website was an opportunity for me to practice a little mashup of mediums for a change. With custom painted patterning elements throughout inspired by a very large and very gorgeous painting she keeps in her home, this site is much more in line with the colourful person Jennifer is. | 2024 | Aug 16, 2024 12:23 AM

VOICE · CELEBRATION · COMMUNITY Poetry is a source of energy, entertainment and joy shared by all societies. The Edmonton Poetry Festival celebrates poetry in all its forms. We get people from across the city involved as creators and audiences. Doesn’t matter what age you are, what culture you come from, or whether you fall for slam poetry or jump at reading the classics. We work with all sorts of partners to build Edmonton’s vibrant poetry scene: publishers, writers’ organizations, community organizations, schools and literary groups. We connect poetry with other art forms (like music and visual art) and other parts of life (like science, politics, spirit). We aim to stimulate the growth and quality of work created and performed by Edmonton artists. We bring in national and international artists to inspire, entertain and educate. We build bridges with the human voice and the art of language. — Edmonton Poetry Festival | 2024 | Jul 12, 2024 7:53 PM
“…we spotted the need to produce literature by culturally diverse writers that “does not pander to tokenism, but touches on the true diversity, multiplicity, and complexity of the human experience.” We wrote at the time: “There are many writers in Canada, waiting to have their stories published in English, who want to share their stories, background, and international networks with the Canadian public, now more culturally diverse than at any time in its history.” We are proud to have fulfilled our mandate with passion and persistence, publishing almost thirty hyphened Canadian authors so far.” — Luciana Erregue-Sacchi • Publisher, Laberinto Press | 2023 | Jul 12, 2024 7:49 PM
Writers’ Guild of Alberta 2023 Annual Conference Origins: A Return to Networking, Publishing, Genre, and Craft Origin is defined as the point or place where something begins, arises, or is derived, but what does that mean for a writer? The WGA looks forward to facilitating a return to networking, publishing, genre, and craft in another hybrid-focused conference. Our hope is that participants are able to make new connections, foster old ones, and network with other writers and industry professionals over the course of an entire weekend. We look forward to presenting panels, workshops, and masterclasses that will allow literary folks to delve into a plethora of themes and genres. — WGA Website | 2023 | Jul 12, 2024 7:43 PM

2022 Edmonton is Home tote artwork produced for Plum Home From Plum: Plum's Edmonton is Home totes have always been a real favourite amongst our team and our customers. After careful consideration we felt that they needed to be edited to reflect a broader take on where Edmonton came from. Working with Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society, we received their blessing to share the Indigenous names for the place many of us know as Edmonton. Our history is important and deserves to be valued and recognized. All of our history. About us, by Bent Arrow: Bent Arrow has been serving Indigenous children, youth and families in Edmonton and area since 1994. Our founders strongly believed that keeping culture at the center was crucial and that this important work was best done in partnership. Since then, we have developed strong partnerships with many and are proud to see that culture continues to play a central role in our practice. We also support many partners in elevating their capacity to serve the Indigenous Community in a culturally relevant, authentic and sincere way. The Society is committed to building upon the strengths of Aboriginal Children, youth and families to enable them to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally so that they can walk proudly in both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. | 2022 | Jul 12, 2024 7:21 PM
Writers’ Guild of Alberta 2022 Annual Conference: Shifting Creative Gears After two years of trying new digital programs to adapt our literary world to the pandemic, we are now looking at how our creative lives might shift going forward—perhaps we won’t return to “normal,” but instead take the things we learned during the pandemic to create a new vision of the literary world for the future. — WGA Website | 2022 | Jul 12, 2024 7:18 PM
Visionstate Inc.’s website was in need of an overhaul both in structure and in visual design. After an audit of their existing content, I put together an entirely new structure plan and, in partnership with Sulya Fenichel, completely revamped their verbiage and applied a brand new look to their site. The resulting site is easy to navigate, highlights the content that’s most important, and offers simple ways for people to reach out and get in touch. Holistic in our foundations and passionately planet-centred, we want our clients, partners, investors, investees, staff, families, and communities to be proud to know, work, and live with us. All of our products, services, and choices are designed to serve this vital network of relationships. – Visionstate Inc. | 2022 | Jul 12, 2024 7:09 PM

Chris McKibbin is an independent artist and owner of Voxelwear based in Vancouver, BC. Chris created Voxelwear to fill a hole in the Canadian market for quality art bandanas aimed at the festival scene. As Chris explains it,“I fell in love with festival culture, which is based on the values of acceptance, creativity, and love. Those strong values, mixed with the unique music and festival fashion inspired a need within me to create.” Together Chris and I developed his brand and Shopify site. | 20192020 | Jul 12, 2024 6:05 PM
Advocann, founded by Heather Savage-Stewart, is a Canadian advocacy and medical assistance company out of Edmonton, Alberta. Heather has worked for Alberta Health for over 30 years. Throughout that time she has seen patients and their families struggle to navigate the sometimes confusing medical system. Her biggest concern is the “Sandwich Generation” who will have to contend with aging parents while also still raising their children. She strives to provide a compassionate, educated guide for people whose parents are aging, cancer patients receiving treatment, and so many others in need of a helping hand. From specialist appointments, coordinating transportation and home care, to hospital visits and home assessments, Heather can help. This branding project is so close to home for me. I have been through the process of aging loved ones in care, my husband having 11-hour surgery, discussing treatments and options, and I know on a personal level how much Heather’s services are needed. | 2018 | Jul 12, 2024 5:59 PM
We in the marketing department of United Sport & Cycle were pretty tired of the same old story for Mother’s Day. So we changed it. Instead of offering a free spa discount with every purchase, or offering flowers, we decided to recognize the bad ass women who shop at our store. They are cyclists, hockey players, goalies, swimmers, runners, and so much more. So instead of saying “here’s some flowers” we said “Take a Hike”. I worked in United Sport & Cycle’s marketing department for 5 years where I was responsible for design, email marketing, creative direction, and advertising. This Holiday campaign project is one of my favourites from the time. This is because it marks the major shift in how United Sport & Cycle approach retail marketing. This campaign transitioned United from stock imagery to in-house photography and video. Every image we used included our own product from the sales floor. As such, we wrapped each item, strategically ripped open the packaging, and even stained our own planks for the floor of the shots. In contrast to just downloading stock images, it was a giant effort for our little marketing team. And it paid off big time. They finally have something that is truly “them” and has something of a spirit to it. | 2017 | Jul 12, 2024 5:38 PM
A Back to School campaign for United Sport & Cycle that ran from July through early September. This campaign featured accessories such as backpacks and water bottles, active wear, and footwear. We also focused on sports such as Volleyball, Football, and Hockey to name a few. For this campaign we ran an email marketing campaign, social and google ads, as well as a killer organic social campaign. We focused heavily on #shoplocal and original photography at local landmarks like University of Alberta and Scona High School. Our target demographic for this campaign was mainly parents of students and University students heading back for the new semester. | 2017 | Jul 12, 2024 5:06 PM

The 2019 Writers’ Guild conference, Writing Across Worlds, explored themes across literary works that cross forms, genres, and cultures, as well as how storytelling is crossing into new realms—from the digital sphere to the sleeves of our coffee cups—and into the psychological space of our daily routines. | 2019 | Jun 29, 2024 7:32 PM |
